Membership Director Salary Range: $53,000.00 - $58,000.00

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is looking for an energetic, community-focused leader to join us as our next Membership Director! • Drive membership growth and retention through exceptional service and relationship-building
• Lead member tours, onboarding, and engagement efforts
• Monitor membership trends and help improve the member experience
• Collaborate with other branch leaders to strengthen the Y’s role as a community hub
• Foster a culture where every person feels welcomed, valued, and supported
• Connect members to programs and opportunities that support their goals and well‑being
• Ensure welcoming and belonging are reflected in all member interactions and experiences

• Recruit, develop, and inspire a high‑performing membership team
• Collaborate with branch leadership to support operational goals and branch initiative

• Proven ability to lead and develop teams to deliver exceptional member experiences
• Experience growing membership and retention through relationship-building and engagement
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for creating welcoming environments
• Results-driven with the ability to use data and execute effectively
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 3+ years in membership, sales, or customer experience leadership
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Knowledge of the Alexandria community is a plus
