St. Ignatius Loyola Academy seeks a mission-driven, dynamic and enthusiastic team player as our next Director of Finance & Operations. This full-time faculty position is a twelve-month, salaried, exempt employment position with occasional evening responsibilities. Salary is competitive within the Baltimore area independent and public school market. JOB DESCRIPTION:The Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative operations of the organization including budget management, financial reporting, monitoring cash flow, developing and maintaining best practices and internal controls for company finances and operations, human resources functions, facilities management, and computer and technical systems management.
The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the President.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- In collaboration with the president and members of the administration, oversee financial operations including execution of financial strategies and processes including annual operating budget, and annual audits.
- Serve on the All-Share Group guiding management and oversight for school operations, policy development and implementation.
- Coordinate financial functions, including banking, investments concerning management of cash flow and investment strategies, and preparation of financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage contract commitments and expenditures to ensure consistency with budgeting.
- Manage and maintain employee policies and procedures handbook.
- Oversee payroll and employee benefits, including accrued vacation , health plan, insurance, retirement funding, and other benefits as appropriate.
- Oversee all human resources functions, food service, buildings and grounds, and information technology at the Academy.
- Obtain government funding available to the Academy through the MSDE and federal programs.
- Assist in onboarding new faculty, staff and contractors as appropriate.
- Provide support to the President for overall operations.
- Provide support to the organization’s Board of Trustees, including support to the Finance Committee and the Committee Chair, as well as support for full board and committee meetings.
- Manage the Academy’s accounting procedures.
- Oversee management and maintenance of office space, equipment, computer technology, inventory and supplies.
- Ensure the Academy’s compliance with all required agencies, groups and required inspections..
- Supervise finance and operations staff, including full-time, part-time and contract staff.
The interviews will take place in three rounds:
- Round One: A one-on-one screen with the president, which may happen on campus or via Zoom, during the day or after hours.
- Semi-Finalists: will be introduced to board representatives via Zoom, including the Chair of the Board and the Finance Committee Chair.
- Finalist: A full day on campus atius Loyola Academy or via Zoom, meeting with the search team, which will include the president, finance staff, administration team peers, and other representatives from the school.
