POSITION DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to support the Division of Parole and Probation’s operational and community-focused agenda by managing and coordinating essential administrative functions related to the Division’s field offices.

Duties include:

  • Overseeing property management, coordinating leasing, maintenance, security, and facility-related needs, and monitoring contract compliance.
  • Coordinating technology services, submitting requisitions, procuring staff safety equipment, and working with vendors to ensure field offices remain safe and functional.
  • Planning, developing, and monitoring contracted services with office managers, Division leadership, the Office of Real Estate Services, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Auditing and monitoring vendor performance to assess compliance with agency standards and contract requirements.
  • Coordinating procurement-related activities, tracking purchasing requests, and assisting with the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Managing subordinate staff by scheduling, monitoring, assigning, and evaluating work to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Evaluating employee performance and providing guidance to support Division operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high‑school equivalency certificate.

Experience:

Six years of administrative staff or professional work experience.

Substitutions for experience may be made as follows:

  • 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of required experience.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience substitutes for the required experience.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree substitutes for five years of required experience.
  • U.S. Armed Forces military service as a commissioned officer involving staff work may substitute for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Such employees must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

All information concerning qualifications must be submitted by the closing date. Successful candidates will be ranked as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified and placed on the eligible employment list for at least one year.
