With the growth of the company, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager professional to support the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Intramural Research Program.

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment supporting scientific research operations, strategic initiatives, and organizational project management activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION /DUTIES:
  • Serve as Project Manager supporting the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Intramural Research Program within the Office of the Scientific Director.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project management plans, schedules, timelines, and supporting documentation for multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Conduct meetings, interviews, and discussions with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide timely status updates and recommendations to project leadership.

  • Develop, monitor, and track project budgets while forecasting future spending and identifying potential financial risks.

  • Support enterprise resource planning activities and annual budget formulation.

  • Maintain project expenditure tracking using designated financial management tools and provide regular budget reports.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation libraries, templates, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and project management resources.

  • Evaluate existing project management processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and quality.

  • Develop standardized project management tools, guides, and best practices for use across multiple projects.

  • Review project plans, budgets, and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational standards and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.

  • Coordinate activities among research operations, project teams, leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

  • Research current project management methodologies and industry best practices to support continuous process improvement.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project status reports, financial summaries, and other required contract deliverables.

  • Maintain effective communication with project owners, stakeholders, and leadership regarding project status, milestones, risks, and recommendations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / EXPERTISE:
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 17 years of progressively responsible project management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects from initiation through completion.

  • Experience developing and managing project budgets, expenditure tracking, and financial forecasting.

  • Experience developing project management documentation, SOPs, templates, and standardized processes.

  • Experience conducting project evaluations, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or other Federal Government organizations is highly desirable.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

LOCATION:
  • Baltimore, MD (Please be able to commute to Baltimore, MD)

  • Part-Time (24 hours per week / 1,248 hours annually)

  • Telework may be authorized with Government approval.
