Responsibilities

Summary: The Clinical Director provides clinical and administrative oversight for all contracted treatment services within the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS). The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of evidence-based and clinically appropriate substance use disorder services to incarcerated individuals with substance use disorders. This position chiefly oversees clinical and administrative operations and ensures that programs comply with all contracting agency requirements, evidence-based practices and company policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Clinical Director oversees delivery of evidence-based Substance Use Disorder and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder treatment services.
  • Ensures the proper provision of treatment services.
  • The Clinical Director monitors clinical documentation, treatment fidelity and program outcomes through quality assurance activities, chart reviews, audits, and corrective action plans (in partnership with Quality Assurance & Training Department).
  • In partnership with the Quality Assurance and Training Department, ensures compliance with DPSCS state regulatory standards, accreditation standards, licensing requirements, and contractual obligation.
  • The Clinical Director develops clinical programming and clinical protocols within correctional setting.
  • Supervisees clinical supervisors, counselors, and reentry social work staff (if applicable).
  • Provides leadership, coaching, training supervision, and ongoing staff development for clinical and program staff.
  • Oversees reentry services to support successful and efficient transitions to community-based treatment and recovery services.
