Summary:

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Facilities and Engineering oversees multiple sites within the Life Bridge Health system; responsible for Sinai Hospital, Grace Medical Center, and Levindale. Directs the maintenance, engineering, and housekeeping of building, grounds, and equipment, acting in an advisory capacity to the Administration when changes in the existing structure are planned or additions to the physical plant are proposed.

Supervises emergency and major repair work and regularly inspects the hospital buildings and equipment. Supervises and directs the design and development of all construction and renovation projects. This position has multi-site facilities oversight for Sinai Hospital, Grace Medical Center, and Levindale Hospital. Coordinates and manages the Hospital programs related to the maintenance, engineering, and housekeeping of the building, grounds, and equipment.

Supervises emergency and major repair work and regularly inspects the hospital buildings and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Consults with and advises the Vice President, Ancillary/Support Operations on issues related to the operations of assigned departments.
  • Responsible for total coordination of the Hospital's Snow Plan including transportation of employees, patients, and physicians.
  • Compliance duties such as conducting various inspections with J.C.A.H.O., Health Departments, licensing bodies, and various other governing agencies, as well as electrical, fire and punch lists.
  • Develops departmental strategy that supports the division, and Life Bridge Health.
  • Leads staff in identifying customer needs, ensures integration into departmental and divisional strategic and operational plans, and directs the development of good customer relations.
  • Stays abreast of trends in facilities management and advises Administration to ensure the optimum environment. Responsible for directing and blending divisional long-range goals with those of the department and Hospital.
  • Establishes goals and objectives for the department that are consistent with Life Bridge Health.
  • Influence Tactfully manages the activities of people outside of the department in order to achieve project or program goals and/or outcomes.
  • Actively participates in the overall improvement of departmental and organizational performance.
  • Collaborates with staff to direct the performance improvement process for the department or division.
  • Embraces and deploys the workgroup concepts and strategies.
  • Tracks departmental and divisional performance improvements.
  • Ensures that Facilities operations meet the needs of its customers, including patients, medical staff, professional staff, and others. Functions as a role model for customer service. Provides education, training, mentoring, and guidance to staff.
  • Works collaboratively with customers to identify unmet needs.
  • Responsible for the overall operations of the department. Responsible for hiring and retaining competent staff, as well as ensuring that the department is appropriately staffed. Manages within budget. Sets policy, procedure and practice for the department.
  • Continually seeks new ways to improve departmental performance.
Experience:
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience leading facilities operations, preferably in a hospital/healthcare environment
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred. Degree in Engineering or another relevant field strongly preferred.

Salary Pay Range: $72.65 to $116.24 (based on experience)
