The Deputy Director of the Office of Emergency Operations directs and coordinates the Maryland Department of Human Services' emergency preparation, response, and recovery operations statewide. This Grade 20 management position oversees 9 permanent staff and additional emergency personnel, manages continuity of operations planning, coordinates with federal and state agencies including FEMA, and ensures readiness of shelters and emergency resources across DHS Central and 24 local departments.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Five years of supervisory experience in disaster response, emergency health services, law enforcement, firefighting, or similar emergency response environments
- Three years of experience creating emergency response plans, SOPs, and emergency policies
- Three years of experience managing incident reporting or coordinating emergency operations with local, state, or federal partners
