Theme Park Lighting Technician/Spotlight Operator

Salary: $850/week

Job Overview

RWS Global is seeking a dedicated Lighting Technician/Spotlight Operator to support our productions during the seasonal contract period. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of theatrical lighting operations, be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, and be able to follow direction from the Technical Director, Lead, or Lighting Designer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate spotlight during performances and conduct basic maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with theater lighting.
  • Change lighting gels and perform other necessary lighting‑related tasks.
  • Follow stage directions and maintain a working knowledge of theatrical staging requirements.
  • Collaborate with other RWS employees and production staff to ensure seamless operation.
  • Adhere to production schedules, deadlines, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of all work areas, including backstage, dressing rooms, and green rooms.
  • Comply with all safety protocols, company policies, and infectious disease control measures.
  • Follow the company’s chain of command and guidelines for professional conduct.
  • Assist with install/load‑in and strike/load‑out processes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and reasonable for the position.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Prior experience in theatrical lighting, spotlight operation, or stage production preferred.
  • Basic understanding of lighting equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and lifting equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise cues and instructions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
