At the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, MD, SA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department and we are currently hiring an Instrumentation/Engineering Technician III/IV to perform fabrication, installation and operational support of instrumentation systems and wiring harnesses on various aircraft and test articles.

• Pre-flight and post-flight support of F-35 platform, flight test pods, and ground support equipment (test carts, DRODI vans)
• Wire instrumentation packages on various platforms, following VX-23 and AID processes and procedures
• Maintain, install, calibrate, test and troubleshoot F-35 instrumentation systems
• Support on-aircraft ground testing and instrumentation pre-flights, post-flights, and test flight support (including loading and removing data cartridges and delivering them to data processing)
• Perform testing at other facilities and carriers, requiring travel
• Work in the Instrumentation Lab (troubleshooting, installing and checking out instrumentation systems)
• Conform to AVMI and LM FOD, tool‑control policies, and all facets of security (physical, AIS, document control, COMSEC, OPSEC, security education) and instrumentation quality assurance inspections
• Maintain, install, calibrate, test and troubleshoot E2D and P-8 instrumentation systems

• Tasks may require hazardous chemicals and noisy environments
• Work performed mostly in enclosed buildings
• Job includes sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted and 50-100 lbs assisted by others
• Working hours:
  
  (first shift) and  (second shift)

• High School diploma required with two years of relevant experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of instrumentation systems and willingness to work various shifts and weekends
• Must obtain and maintain IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification within 60 days of start
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience
• Must obtain and maintain Non-Aircrew Cockpit Systems (NACS) qualification
• Current Driver’s License required; insured under company vehicle insurance policy while driving work or rental vehicles during employment
• U.S. Citizenship required; must obtain a DoD Secret Clearance prior to hire date and maintain it throughout employment
• All candidates must pass background screening (SSN, Driver Record, Criminal Background Investigation)
