Overview
Production Lead – Wash Aisle
Reports To: Plant Manager / Assistant Plant Manager
The Wash Aisle Team Lead supervises all operations within the wash aisle department, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance with company standards. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage personnel and workflow while consistently meeting production goals.
Responsibilities Operational Oversight- Oversee all wash aisle operations including whole wash aisle, towel counting and sorting (including presswork), mat room, and wipers folding & counting.
- Ensure quality standards are met across all wash aisle processes.
- Monitor workflow and production to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Minimize downtime and improve turn times where possible.
- Keep team members focused, productive, and on task during working hours.
- Reassign personnel as needed based on workload and production priorities.
- Fill in or reallocate staff when absences occur to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Train and cross-train employees on wash aisle tasks.
- Address minor work-related issues promptly to maintain smooth workflow.
- Enforce all safety rules, company policies, and operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Actively monitor work areas for safety risks and address concerns immediately.
- Ensure quality control standards are consistently upheld.
- Maintain daily wash aisle production targets.
- Maintain less than a 2% error rate in towel sorting, folding, and wash aisle operations.
- Ensure tasks are completed within scheduled shift times; minimize overtime.
- Cross-train at least 2 employees per month.
- Maintain 100% coverage for scheduled shifts.
- Zero safety violations reported in the department.
- Maintain less than 5% idle time for the team.
- Full-time position; typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM, with occasional overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
- Stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Comfortable working in warm, humid environments near industrial equipment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in industrial laundry, manufacturing, or production preferred.
- Previous team lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
