Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance
Job Function: Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be based out of Baltimore, MD and will be responsible to play a crucial role in ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of our plant equipment, buildings, and facilities in a unionized environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with both hourly maintenance employees and instrumentation technicians.
Responsibilities- Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing or process production environment (chemical, food & beverage, metals, automotive, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience supervising hourly maintenance technicians, electricians, or multi-craft trades in a production facility.
- Proven ability to manage equipment reliability and plant maintenance performance using data-driven metrics such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and downtime reduction.
- Experience developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve asset reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Hands‑on experience using a CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, MP2, Fiix, eMaint, or similar) to manage work orders, equipment history, and maintenance backlog.
- Experience leading root‑cause analysis for equipment failures and implementing corrective actions tied to measurable improvements in plant performance.
- Ability to coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to maintain operational targets and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
- Experience working within a unionized manufacturing environment and maintaining compliance with collective bargaining agreements is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or industrial setting.
Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements.
Excellent problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Experience- Degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and maintenance best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Solid understanding of budget management principles and experience in managing maintenance budgets.
