Job Summary
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) is seeking an experienced full‑time Heavy Equipment Operator at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility and the Cox Creek Sediment Technology and Reuse Facility in northern Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City, Maryland. Positions available include Senior Equipment Operator (SEO) and Lead Equipment Operator (LEO).
Responsibilities- Operate off‑road dump trucks, dozers, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
- Operate dewatering pumps as needed.
- Perform work during evenings, weekends, and temporary assignments at other MES‑operated facilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pass a standard physical examination.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license with less than five points.
- SEO: at least three years of heavy equipment operations experience.
- LEO: at least five years of heavy equipment operations experience.
Senior Equipment Operator: $50,233.92 – $69,070.88 per year.
Lead Equipment Operator: $55,256.40 – $75,978.12 per year.
