Location: Sparks, MD

Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Must be US Citizens, Green Card holders, or EAD/OPT/CPT).

Hours: Monday through Thursday 6pm–6am, with training on M‑T 6am–6pm.

Job Description
  • Reports directly to Engineering Manager or Production Supervisor.
  • Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM), and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Manages production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation.
  • Conducts mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection, and monitoring of production/facilities equipment and machinery.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs complex equipment using judgment and consultation.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, effective teamwork, and decision‑making.
  • Plans, performs, and solves problems in all maintenance tasks.
Job Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain highly automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Control and adjust machine settings.
  • Prioritize daily work to meet production needs and department goals.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance and complete work orders.
  • Support equipment installations, removals, and corrective maintenance.
  • Monitor production lines, evaluate equipment performance, and recommend improvements.
  • Perform changeovers and operator‑level preventive maintenance.
  • Assist root‑cause analysis for process or product exceptions.
  • Check work with gauges, jigs, and fixtures for close tolerances.
  • Document quality, safety, and maintenance records accurately.
  • Lead improvement projects to increase equipment utilization.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex machine performance and product quality issues.
  • Advise on PM task list content and execution frequency.
  • Participate in installation, debugging, and start‑up of new or modified equipment.
  • Work under general supervision, with contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Follow GMP, housekeeping, and safety policies.
  • Work overtime as required to meet business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma/ GED with 4 years of experience.
  • Relevant fields:
    Electrical / Electronics Technician, Electromechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Industrial Programmer, Electrician, Machine Builder / Repairer, Machinist, Refrigeration Mechanic, Welding Repairer.
Knowledge and Basic Skills
  • Time management to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Flexibility and adaptability across equipment, processes, and projects.
  • Understanding of trade mathematics, calibration techniques, precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to maintain close accuracy and tolerances in complex work.
  • Knowledge of PC applications, MS Excel & Word.
  • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics aptitude.
  • Use of multimeter and sensor technology.
  • Basic plumbing (fluid and pneumatic).
  • Power transmission (gearbox, motors, belt and chain drives).
  • Basic machining.
  • Electrical troubleshooting of circuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC.
Additional

Preferred Experience
  • Troubleshooting of industrial control systems (instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, VFD, servo).
  • Proficiency in PLC operations, robotics, and vision systems.
  • Mechanical design (AutoCAD, Solid Works).
  • SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system for welding.
  • Basic skills in milling, lathing, welding, bearing press.
