OverviewApplied Signal Technology (AST) seeks a Senior Infrastructure / Networking Engineer to strengthen national security through advanced high‑capacity broadband communications and SIGINT solutions. This onsite role in Annapolis Junction, MD allows for flexibility at the discretion of the hiring manager.
What You Will Do- Be integral to a team that makes decisions and generates ideas to push products beyond expectations.
- Guide and oversee the design, development, testing, and delivery of advanced high‑capacity systems.
- Collaborate with R&D on system development and deployments for national security.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, working autonomously and collaboratively.
- Generate briefings and present material to team members, customers, and management.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Degree in STEM, or equivalent experience (≥5 years relevant experience or 3 years with an advanced degree; 9 years if no degree).
- Active and transferable TS/SCI clearance prior to start date.
- Experience supporting multiple programs’ system development.
- Experience in Python or similar scripting languages.
- Hands‑on Linux expertise (Red Hat based).
- System administration experience.
- Experience with enterprise‑grade networking equipment (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
- Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMWare, Hyper‑V).
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP.
- Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Ansible, Salt).
- Network and data‑center design and setup.
- Verification and validation of software and systems.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- User interface development experience.
- Experience with enterprise‑grade storage equipment.
- Object‑oriented programming knowledge.
- Advanced Python or other scripting skills.
- Understanding of telecommunications concepts or signal processing.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized systems.
- Process improvement experience.
- Automated system deployment experience.
- Active TS/SCI with Poly, active within last 24 months.

Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
Short‑term and long‑term incentive compensation may be available depending on level and collective‑bargaining agreement. These payments are not guaranteed and are dependent on performance.
