Job SummarySystem Engineer SE at Nightwing CODEX directly supporting mission critical needs. We solve complex and critical problems in partnership with mission customers. Serves as a scrum master in an agile environment following the software development product lifecycle. This position requires traditional SE processes such as contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s). Support developers in translating technical work into diagrams or other documentation needed. Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components. Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross‑discipline coordination.
Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations. Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
This position is a hybrid position.
Basic Qualifications- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university and seven years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. Five years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Technologies/skills:
Understanding of agile processes, Java, Confluence, Jira, SE models, AWS, requirements, architecture designs, clear and concise communications, and a collaborative working style with internal and external stakeholders. - Must be able to work in a collaborative environment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to communicate and translate technical work to non‑technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Serve as a scrum master in an agile environment following the software development product lifecycle.

Salary range: $99,000 ‑ $206,000, commensurate with experience and expertise.
