What You’ll Do- Promote Safety:
Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. - Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment:
Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant, including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear‑parts replacement, crusher liner changes, water‑pump service, cutting, grinding, and welding as needed. - Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment:
Perform minor repairs to front‑end wheel loaders and skid steers—hydraulic hoses, bucket cutting edges, and other miscellaneous repairs—to maintain safe operation. Perform scheduled preventive‑maintenance services on mobile equipment, including lube services and sampling. - Inspect Equipment and Structures:
Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximizing production and minimizing interruptions. - Monitor Processes and Materials:
Monitor and review the plant, specifically the aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas, to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance. - Document and Record Information:
Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports for plant equipment, ensuring preventive maintenance is up to date. - Perform General Physical
Activities:
Assist with the operation of the plant by cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials. - Railcar Unloading:
Assist in the rail‑unloading process, operating the rail‑car mover, air‑actuated gates, monitoring unloading equipment, and setting rail‑car handbrakes. - Other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
- Flexibility:
Must be able to work overtime and extended hours, outside in all types of weather conditions, and tolerate loud noises. - Mechanical skills:
Knowledge of industrial tools, their use, and maintenance.
- Shift Differential:
Night‑shift employees receive an additional 20% on their base pay for designated hours. - Medical, dental, and vision programs.

The hourly range for this role is $22.79–$29.80. This range does not include discretionary bonus or equity package.
