** job summary
** the marketing coordinator reports to the communication director and is responsible for strategizing and deploying effective marketing tools to support innovative campaigns for the baltimore city health department.  This position will implement new processes to strengthen the health department’s brand, programs, and services for both internal and external audiences.  Additional responsibilities include tracking marketing metrics, managing content, administering campaigns, and coordinating event advertising.

** essential functions
*** this role leads the development and execution of marketing strategies for the health department’s strategic initiatives, programs, and clinics.
* assists programs with planning, advertising, and promotional activities by providing feedback on the design, layout, and production of marketing materials to ensure alignment with the health department’s brand standards.
* recommends quantifiable strategies and tactics to improve the success of marketing efforts among various health department initiatives and programs.
* prepares reports using quantifiable data to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of marketing campaigns, strategies, and activities.
* collaborate with the communications director and media and marketing officer to develop a social media marketing strategy that maximizes the use of the health department’s platforms, including facebook, instagram, twitter, and linkedin.
* research new and emerging media and advertising platforms to improve the department's marketing channels.
* develops data-driven marketing and communications strategies that lead to positive actions and measurable results among targeted populations.
* participates in public health emergency response duties as assigned and consistent with job classification and training provided in response to natural disasters and threats to public health.
** minimum qualifications
**** education:
** have graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a ged certificate
** and

** experience in marketing, advertising, and development.
** or
* *** equivalency notes:
** have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
** licenses, registrations, and certificates:
** have a valid maryland class c noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and be eligible to obtain a baltimore city driver’s permit.
