This Ameri Corps VISTA project will support the development of our Quality-of-Life Initiative (QOLI) – a statewide capacity-building effort to strengthen nonprofits working to alleviate poverty in Maryland’s rural counties. The project includes a landscape analysis and needs assessment, as well as program planning, execution, and sustainability strategy for the upcoming Maryland Nonprofits Roadshow series – regional events featuring guest speakers, training, and scenario-planning workshops.
These Roadshows, offered both in-person and virtually, will enhance the capacity of nonprofits working to alleviate poverty in Maryland’s rural counties, strengthening community-based solutions that promote long-term sustainability and impact.
The VISTA member will develop and complete a comprehensive landscape analysis and needs assessment identifying at least 100 nonprofits serving low-income or rural communities in MD, including data on service areas, resource gaps, and capacity-building priorities. The VISTA member will plan and develop capacity for the launch of the Maryland Nonprofits Roadshow model to help expand rural communities' access to nonprofit support.
The VISTA member will also establish new partnerships with regional or local organizations (e.g., foundations, service providers, or county coalitions) to support future QoLI programming.
