Director of Development and Stewardship
The Saint's Philip and James Church and University Parish seeks a Director of Development and Stewardship who will lead and enhance fundraising initiatives for the campus ministry and parish community. The Director will work under the Chaplain and the Pastor, collaborating with the Dominican friars and staff to advance the parish mission.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive major gift strategy, including donor research and prospecting materials.
- Engage personally with top donors, cultivating relationships and fostering stewardship.
- Plan and execute annual fundraising initiatives, such as Giving Tuesday, year‑end, and spring appeals.
- Manage donor records and gifts through the database, ensuring reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Create development materials using tools like Canva and oversee communications for donor engagement.
- Coordinate with the bookkeeper and Office Manager for financial reconciliation and archdiocesan compliance.
- Assist with capital project preparation, budgeting, and oversight.
- Provide regular reports on progress toward fundraising goals and support grant applications.
- Identify and cultivate potential major donors.
- Prepare donor research materials to support chaplain and pastor in major gift conversations.
- Assist in future capital project planning.
- Maintain an annual development calendar and track campaign performance.
- Support monthly donor society and grant applications.
- Engage alumni, parents, parishioners, and other benefactors via monthly cultivation efforts.
- Oversee registration, communications, and post‑event follow‑up for cultivation initiatives.
- Ensure timely and personalized acknowledgment of all gifts.
- Support the pastor and parish staff in parochial giving initiatives.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, committed to the mission of the Dominican friars and SS Philip & James.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
- Proven track record in securing significant major and principal gifts.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, research, board development, donor relations, and staff management.
- Exemplary interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills.
- High level of accountability, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to learn donor databases and communication platforms (e.g., Bloomerang, Mail Chimp).
Pay Range: $100,000 – $120,000, Annualized.
