General Summary:
Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) is a post-graduate volunteer service program that places young adults to live and work in solidarity with marginalized populations across the United States. Entering our 70th year, the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) has been a pioneer in the national service landscape. JVC is the oldest, largest, faith-based, full-time volunteer program in the world. This year, JVC has 128 volunteers living in 23 communities across the United States.
Volunteers serve at 110+ partner nonprofit social services agencies with a worldwide network of 12,500+ Former Jesuit Volunteer (FJV) alumni.

Overview: FJVEM leads our engagement with the 12,500+ alumni of the JVC program:
Former Jesuit Volunteers (“FJVs”) who are, in the words of our founder Fr. Jack Morris, SJ, “ruined for life.” This role will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to build and manage programs, resources, and activities that connect us to and cultivate a life-long relationship with our FJV community.
Objectives:
Manage and develop an FJV Alumni Connection Hub
- Coordinate a digital calendar of annual FJV communications and programming (both JVC-led and/or locally initiated)
- Curate content for and design quarterly FJV newsletter
- Maintain an updated Alumni Hub on the JVC website to track engagement opportunities and spotlight participation
- Partner with Communications team to acknowledge noteworthy highlights of FJVs with features on achievements/recognition (i.e. press releases, social media updates)
- Oversee developing and publishing FJV related social media communications, including video interview series
- Plan and pilot a chapter-based structure to organize core FJV communities
Lead and facilitate programs and activities that benefit FJV connection, formation, and networking
- Develop and lead the process of transitioning the current JV cohort into FJVs (Becoming an FJV, Dis Orientation Retreat)
- Design and implement regular JVC-initiated FJV events, provide logistics support for locally-led FJV events (retreats, coffee chats, conferences, happy hours, potlucks, community service days)
- Manage initiatives beneficial to the wellbeing of the FJV community (i.e. career networking, mentorship program)
- Manage, scale, and promote organizational partnerships providing alumni resources, including graduate program scholarships
- Establish and maintain mechanisms for gathering regular and ongoing FJV feedback
- Serve as primary point of contact for general FJV inquiries and check-ins through department inbox and phone extension
- Manage JVC swag merchandise and how we market and distribute it.
Collaborate to engage FJVs across the organization
- With Programs/Admissions: solicit support for JVC functions, including application screeners, Local Formation Teams, community needs (cars, furniture, etc.)
- With Development: assist with lead identification and campaign design to support FJV giving goals
- With Communications: collect and publish FJV stories, testimonials, and key events for social media and website content
Operations
- Maintain contact databases that support ongoing FJV communications, including listservs and webpages to support email/text outreach
Anticipated Results:
- Growth in FJV reach and engagement rate
- Increased traffic to the Alumni Hub, leading to increased touchpoints at our annual activities/events
- Expanded storytelling that highlights Former Jesuit Volunteers and the impact of a year of service
- Increased percentage of FJV donors
