About The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative

The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works across the United States to address the unhealthy housing conditions in America’s lowest income communities. GHHI supports housing, environmental health, and energy efficiency services for families in communities around the country, as well as conducting direct services in Maryland and other GHHI sites. GHHI’s delivery model is based on its data-driven philosophy that public and private investments in social care and the social determinants of health are optimized and program outcomes are maximized when the energy, health and safety needs of an occupied home are addressed comprehensively, efficiently and simultaneously.

Position Overview

Community Engagement and Education Manager

We are currently seeking a Community Engagement and Education Manager for our Baltimore, Maryland office. The Community Engagement and Education Manager will play an integral role by providing outreach, community engagement and leadership for programs that serve communities including Baltimore City, surrounding counties and across the State of Maryland. The Manager will build relationships with community organizations and key stakeholders and solicit support from GHHI Communications and members of Maryland Program Services Department to lead Outreach and Education to unprecedented levels of impact and effectiveness for families in Maryland.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Outreach and Program Management
  • Responsible for all related outreach program grant and contract requirements including deliverables, reporting, data collection, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee and be responsible for the creation and implementation of plans for all major outreach events including but not limited to annual Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, Healthy Homes Month, and Maryland Asthma Summit.
  • Annually, develop, implement, and continuously evaluate community engagement strategies that align with organizational priorities, grant objectives, and measurable program outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with key external stakeholders including state agency officials, statewide partners, local health departments, health care partners, and local community organizations and leaders.
  • Responsible for annually developing new community and stakeholder partners to expand GHHI’s networks and reach statewide including partners among others: healthcare, housing and energy providers, schools, government and community organization stakeholders.
