Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate/Acute Care Oncology (Med/Surg) position on a night shift rotation, requiring a minimum of 2 years of IMC or Med/Surg experience and prior oncology background.

• Work setting is an Intermediate Care (IMC) and Acute Care Oncology (Med/Surg) unit within a large academic hospital (500+ bed facility)
• Patient population is adult oncology, including leukemia and benign hematology
• Involves management of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, supplemental oxygen, central lines, blood transfusions, and chemotherapy administration
• Alaris infusion pumps are used on the unit (experience preferred)
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Chemotherapy is administered on the unit; however, travel nurses are not required to administer chemo
• Chemo certification is preferred but not required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

• Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of IMC or strong Med/Surg experience required
• Prior oncology experience or background required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Experience with central lines, blood transfusions, and chemotherapy required
• Experience in a comparable large facility setting (500+ beds) required
• Prior travel nursing experience (1–2 assignments) required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
