Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner General Associate (PART-TIME/CONTRACTUAL C1) – (250000I5)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Medicine – Pediatrics is seeking a part-time (4 hours per week), contractual C1 Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to independently provide ambulatory or acute care in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities- Assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute episodic and chronic illnesses and patient health, and provides diagnostic and therapeutic services. Exercises autonomy in medical decision making. Ensures informed consent is properly secured and documented.
- Communicates with other professionals (i.e. counselor and PCP) working with patients.
- Attends clinical team meetings.
- Provides clinical consultation for staff and clinical interns/externs.
- Provides training to medical students, pediatric residents, clinical interns/externs, and staff.
- Education: Master's in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing.
- Experience: Current national certification from AANPNCB or other national certifying body (requires 18 months under an NP mentor before becoming certified) is required.

n/a. - Certification/Licensure: Current Maryland license in good standing issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing to practice as a nurse practitioner or appropriate federal district licensure where research is conducted.
- Licensed with specific patient population and/or specialty area of practice is required.
- Other: Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to support the Care Clinic’s mission.
