The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 28‑bed unit providing comprehensive medical and surgical intensive care for children from birth to 21 years old. As Maryland’s only Level 1 pediatric trauma center and state‑designated pediatric burn ICU, the PICU cares for children up to 15 years of age with complex diagnoses including respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multi-organ failure, shock, toxic ingestions, and neonatal and pediatric ECMO.
Our surgical services encompass extensive general, cardiac, thoracic, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures.
- Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred) and applicants with an associate degree in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Bachelor of Nursing program.
- RN-Registered Nurse License (Required)
- CPR - Basic CPR (Required)
- Minimum six (6) months of nursing experience (Required)
- 1 year of nursing experience (Preferred)
- Prior Pediatric Critical Care nursing experience (Preferred)

Salary Range: Minimum $39.64/hour - Maximum $61.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
