A Licensed Practical Nurse (10 Months) provides practical nursing care to patients and clients under the direction of a physician or a registered nurse. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.

Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class may work rotating shifts including evenings and weekends. Work is performed in a clinic, an office or the client’s home where they may be exposed to illness, disease and stressful conditions. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

• Have two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.
• Current licensure as a practical nurse in the State of Maryland or practical nurse licensure from a Multi‑State Licensure Compact participant state is required.

• Knowledge of practical nursing standards and practices.

Background Check:

Probation:
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six‑month probation.

Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
