Travel RN - Cardiovascular ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position requiring dedicated open-heart unit experience and proficiency with post‑op cardiac surgery recovery in an ICU setting.

• Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and Critical Care Certification preferred
• Prior experience in a dedicated open‑heart unit with direct post‑operative cardiac surgery patient recovery required
• ICU‑level experience required, including ventilator management, CRRT, Swan‑Ganz catheter, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, IABP (Level 1), and ECMO
• Experience at a 500+ bed facility required
• Active licensure and one professional reference required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Work in an 18‑bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) at a large academic hospital setting
• Patient population includes those recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex cardiac procedures
• Nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Day shift, 12‑hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekend Option assignment: 5 out of 6 weekends every 6 weeks
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
