American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Neurosurgical position at an academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or telemetry experience with a neurology patient population.
Requirements- Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or telemetry acute care experience required
- Experience with neurology patients required
- Experience at a large hospital facility (500+ beds) required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required for consideration
- Day shift, 12‑hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Acute care inpatient neurological and neurosurgical unit (14 beds) and Brain Rescue Unit (12‑bed Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center)
- Adult patient population including stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, spinal surgery, Parkinson’s disease, MS, ALS, seizure disorders, and other brain or spinal conditions
- Epic EMR (preferred, not required)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed per unit
- Availability call requirement: 2 (12‑hour) shifts per 6‑week schedule
- Orientation scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
- Provides direct nursing care to adult neurological and neurosurgical inpatients, including stroke and complex neurological conditions
- Large academic medical center environment — strong candidates with relevant experience preferred
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
- Travel experience preferred but not required
