Director of Nursing, Psychiatry (Nurse Manager) Job Overview. The Nurse Manager (Director of Nursing) is a member of the Med Star Health entity-based Division of Nursing's (DON) leadership/management team and is responsible for the adult inpatient psychiatric unit, child and adolescent psychiatric unit, and psychiatric ED unit of organized nursing and patient care services.
Responsibilities- The Nurse Manager is responsible for the adult inpatient psychiatric unit, child and adolescent psychiatric unit, and psychiatric Emergency Department unit of organized nursing and patient care services.

- BSN from a nationally accredited program required;
Master's degree in Nursing or health related field from a nationally accredited program preferred. - 4 years of RN experience required; 2 years of management and leadership experience preferred, particularly in an inpatient psychiatric environment; at least 2 years of psychiatric RN experience strongly preferred.
- Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). PMH-BC strongly preferred.
Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit

36-bed acute adult inpatient psychiatry beds spread across two units of 24 and 12 beds, respectively. Evidenced-based mental health treatment. Hospital-based Protection Services (Security) Department. Experienced leadership. Opportunity to be engaged with change management. Psych Crisis Stabilization Unit Highlights:
Busy specialized 10 bed psychiatric emergency unit, located within the main medical ED. Treats pediatric and adult patients. Security has a strong partnership and presence with the unit. Staffed with psychiatric counselors and RNs.
This position has a hiring range of USD $56.89 - USD $95.36 /Hr.
