Plasma Center Registered Nurse; RN

About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician to support plasma center operations. Your responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results, and ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations and EHS guidelines.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, a confidential self‑exclusion process, medical history interview, and acceptable physical examination
• Perform blood testing and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results
• Evaluate donor reactions and, when necessary, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including mobilizing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating transport to emergency care facilities
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community

• High school diploma or recognized nursing program graduate with state requirements
• Licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting

U.S. hourly wage range: $36.96 – $50.82. Compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, and location. Eligible U.S. employees receive up to 80 hours of sick time and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
