Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Schedule:

Night shift: 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting, with the ability to float to both the NICU and Pediatric departments as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in critical conditions.
• Manage patient care related to respiratory distress, seizures, pediatric pain management, and diabetic keto acidosis (DKA).
• Administer moderate sedation, IV medications, and manage drips.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, arterial blood gases, and other laboratory results.
• Manage central lines, arterial lines, and PICC lines.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate families and caregivers regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a PICU or similar setting.
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Current certifications in BLS and PALS.
• Experience with Cerner charting system is required.
• Previous charge experience is a plus.
