About the Role

Join the dedicated team at Levindale Hospital’s Behavioral Health Unit (BHU), where compassionate care meets clinical excellence. As a Nurse Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with complex behavioral and medical needs while working alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for individuals who are hands‑on, clinically skilled, and passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including total assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and accurate documentation.
  • Perform IV placement as directed by licensed nursing staff.
  • Perform Foley catheter insertion, maintenance, and care.
  • Conduct and monitor EKGs, reporting abnormal findings promptly.
  • Perform phlebotomy for lab specimen collection.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient status.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the care team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Support admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong clinical skills in:
    • IV placement
    • Foley catheter care
    • EKG performance and interpretation support
    • Phlebotomy
    • Total ADL care with thorough documentation
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a high‑acuity behavioral health setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety.
Qualifications
  • Current Maryland CNA license (or eligibility).
  • BLS certification (AHA required).
  • 1‑3 years of patient care experience preferred.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
