Position: Registered Nurse (RN), Day Shift, PACU

Overview

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our PACU Unit. The role embraces our mission to extend God's care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities
  • Educate patients and families through the continuum of care, advance their knowledge and skills, and seek feedback and guidance from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Serve as a role model for Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist Health Care values as we fulfill our nursing mission and vision.
  • Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non‑nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
  • Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action.
  • Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient‑centered care.
  • Conduct purposeful rounding from the perspective of the patient and family.
  • Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings appropriately to practice.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Passing score on NCLEX
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; PACU or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
  • Current Maryland State nursing license
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Active American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required

Pay Range: $37.00 – $55.00
