Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Baltimore, MD

About the Position

Registered Nurse – CVICU in Baltimore, MD. Contract position for 16 weeks, starting ASAP.

• Contract | 16 Weeks
• 3 × 12‑hour rotating nights/days (19:00–07:30 / 07:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required as scheduled

• Provide direct patient care in a high‑acuity cardiovascular ICU setting managing adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, MI, cardiac arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• Manage and monitor patients on mechanical support devices including IABP, Impella, and VADs; patient ratios of 1:1, up to 1:3 for stable, lower‑acuity patients within a 15‑bed unit.
• Assist with and monitor bedside procedures including central line and arterial line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Swan/PA catheter insertion, and targeted temperature management.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors.
• Float within specialty and to ICU or lower‑acuity areas as needed; holidays and every other weekend required as scheduled.

• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CICU experience; first‑time travelers considered with a strong CVICU background including IABP and Impella experience.
• Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact license at time of submission.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only).
• CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version accepted).
• Ability to float within specialty scope with no restrictions.
• Permanent address must be 50 or more miles from facility location.

• NIHSS certification.
• CCRN certification.
• Experience with advanced therapy workups including LVAD and heart transplant evaluations.
