Job Description:
This 13-week assignment places you in the Johns Hopkins Cardiovascular IMC CVPCU, a fast-paced surgical step-down unit specializing in cardiac and vascular post-operative care. As an RN, you’ll be working 12-hour night shifts, delivering care for high-acuity patients recovering from procedures such as bypass surgeries, valve repairs, and transplants. The role involves managing patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices like LVADs and those post-heart/lung transplant.
Expect a mixed nurse-patient ratio typically averaging 1:3 during nights, with 12 dedicated IMC beds for continuous monitoring and additional telemetry and non-monitored patients. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team within a setting that demands strong surgical IMC experience and proficiency with EPIC. This assignment offers an engaging opportunity to work in a specialized environment caring for complex cardiovascular patients, with a weekly commitment of 36 hours.
