We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our team at Stadium Place Nursing & Rehab Center in Baltimore, MD. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of our care plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional care to our residents. • Participates in prospective residents' admission process in terms of their nursing needs and appropriate placement.
• Determines potential Resource Utilization Groups (RUGS) and expense associated with a potential admission.
• Reviews all applications for admission, followed by on-site or phone assessment and communicates results of assessment to the Admissions Coordinator.
• Completes and assures the accuracy of the MDS process for all residents.
• Maintains current working knowledge of Medicare criteria, serving as a resource for nursing staff and communicating changes in regulations.
• Monitors Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect Medicaid Reimbursement.
• Facilitates problem‑solving for complicated admissions.
• Monitors Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Develops care plans and assessment schedules for residents.
• Utilizes the RAI, MDS 3.0, QM, CBQM, and MBP manuals to inform activities and assessments.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing along with a valid state nursing license.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Exceptional mathematical skills and ability to apply them to tasks such as analysis of variance and sampling theory.
• Previous experience in a clinical and healthcare setting; experience as an MDS coordinator preferred.
• An understanding of the MDS 3.0 assessments and procedures.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• A solid understanding of data collection, reporting, and analysis.
