Note - Travel Experience Required Job Summary

Registered Nurse (Transplant) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing organ transplant ation, including pre- transplant evaluation, perioperative management, and post- transplant recovery. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and support to transplant patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pre- and post- transplant patients in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  • Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
  • Coordinate care between physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, dietitians, and other members of the transplant team.
  • Educate patients and families regarding transplant procedures, medications, recovery expectations, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Administer immunosuppressive therapies and monitor for potential side effects or complications.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and assist in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition of care.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality improvement standards.
  • Support ongoing research and education initiatives within the transplant program.
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
    Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably in transplant, medical-surgical, or critical care settings.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in organ transplant, renal, hepatic, or cardiac transplant programs.
  • Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN) or other relevant specialty certification.
  • Experience with Epic or other electronic health record systems.
Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required depending on unit.
  • Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN) preferred.
