SUMMARY:
B6 is a 29-bed surgical oncology unit with a focus on GYN malignancies. We care for a large variety of oncology patients, with solid tumors, orthopedic cancer and hematologic cancers to name a few. With a large, complex post-surgical population, this setting will allow the development of strong assessment, intervention and communication skills. The unit also cares for patients who develop complications from their disease and complications from complex chemotherapy;
during their stay, here you will develop strong relationships with both patients and their families. We are searching for energetic and compassionate staff members looking to both develop or advance their post-operative, oncology and chemotherapy skills. With an engaged staff on the unit, wecanteach new to practice and new to specialty team members. There is a family like feel amongst the staff, and we would love to have you as a part of our team.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of the patient care team, the RN provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate‘s degree (2 years college
- Requires knowledge of a specialized field.
- Associate‘s degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Less than 1 year of experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse, registered to practice in Maryland.
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
