Med Star Medical Group is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to join the CVICU team at Med Star Union Memorial Hospital. Practice within Med Star Union Memorial Hospital, a nationally recognized destination for cardiovascular surgery and a key hospital within the Med Star Heart & Vascular Institute, caring for critically ill cardiovascular surgery patients with meaningful autonomy in a collaborative, well-supported multidisciplinary environment.

Position Highlights

* Practice within an 8-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

* Care for critically ill patients following complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures

* Perform comprehensive critical care assessments and patient management

* Perform advanced bedside procedures, including intubation, ventilator management, central and arterial line placement, dialysis catheter insertion, chest tubes, and thoracentesis

* Flexible scheduling with a day/night rotating schedule or dedicated nocturnist position

* Combination of 12- and 24-hour shifts

* Collaborative team of 10 APPs and 6 physicians

* Practice with a high degree of autonomy utilizing cutting-edge technology

Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited AGACNP program

* Current BLS and ACLS

* Board certified or board eligible

* Maryland licensure (or eligibility)

* Minimum of one year of Advanced Practice Provider experience in an ICU, CVICU, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology or Critical Care setting required.

* New graduates are not eligible for this position
