Registered Nurse
The position is for a registered nurse in a fast-paced surgical step-down unit. The team primarily cares for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries. Registered nurses need to have experience with high acuity patients. Candidates should be comfortable taking care of patients who are 1+ days post-operative from CABG, valve repairs, and valve replacements. The unit specializes in caring for patients with mechanical circulatory support devices like LVADs, as well as those recovering from heart and lung transplants.
Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:3 during the day and 1:4 environment focuses on providing comprehensive care for patients who are post-operative cardiac, vascular, and thoracic.
