Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse (PICU RN)
This is a 13-week contract position with a mixed schedule of night and day shifts, requiring at least 5 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.
Job DescriptionThe Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse (PICU RN) will provide critical care to infants, children, and adolescents experiencing severe health challenges. The ideal candidate must be proficient in managing complex care situations, including but not limited to respiratory distress, DKA, seizures, and pain management.
Responsibilities- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing changes in care as needed.
- Provide support during special procedures including moderate sedation, drips, and central line management.
- Float to NICU and PEDS as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric intensive care setting.
- BLS and PALS certifications are required.
- A valid Maryland or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission.
