Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a compact or MD RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active compact RN license or MD RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience within the last 7 years required
• Previous travel nursing assignment required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/IMC of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Required to work every other 3rd weekend
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient population
• Utilizes cardiac monitoring equipment and performs dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Provides respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and nasal cannula
• Provide direct patient care including isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management as needed
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Facility-specific compliance modules must be completed within one week of contract signing
• Labs and drug screening appointments must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed for this position
