POSITION OVERVIEWThis W-2 hourly Family Nurse Practitioner position is part‑time, 24 hours per week across three organizations:
Community Wellness Outpatient Mental Health Center, Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center, and Freedom Healthcare. The role combines direct patient care, medication management, clinical supervision, and administrative responsibilities across all three programs.
- Facilitate and document coordination with external primary care providers, including obtaining consent when appropriate.
- Prescribe medications following a full face‑to‑face evaluation, assess contraindications, and monitor regimens. Conduct medication evaluations at least every 90 days.
- Educate clients and caregivers about medication purpose, effects, risks. Notify primary care providers of medication changes every six months.
- Conduct peer reviews of prescribers' work and support documentation compliance across the clinical team.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings with HR, scheduling, patient access, and other departments.
- Conduct batch documentation audits, including referral, treatment plan, biopsychosocial, ASAMs, and intern notes review.
- Collaborate with external agencies or treatment providers for shared clients or complex care needs.
- Accept and review incoming lab results in the EHR; use clinical judgment to adjust care plans.
- Ensure all documentation is completed within expected time frames; code appropriately using evaluation and management CPT codes.
- Contribute to quality assurance, audit readiness, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with COMAR, CARF, Medicaid, and internal standards.
- Provide support and education to clinical staff regarding medication protocols and service delivery expectations.
- Submit periodic reports and summaries related to administrative and clinical oversight duties.
- On Friday, perform administrative and clinical leadership duties: participate in leadership meetings, conduct administrative tasks, coordinate quality reviews, provide supervisory support, host staff meetings, and submit daily reports.
- On Monday and one other weekday, deliver psychiatric care, medication‑assisted treatment (MAT), integrated primary care, and supervise clinical staff as needed.
- Active licensure with the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid DEA and CDS registrations.
- Willingness and ability to maintain professional medical malpractice insurance coverage.
$30.00 to $100.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, expertise, credentials, and available company budget.

Monday, Friday, and a third weekday (e.g., Thursday). 8 AM to 5 PM each day. Friday is the administrative day; the other two days focus on clinical services.
ANTICIPATED TRAVELApproximately 5% of the time, with no additional compensation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSRegular walking, standing, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, and driver duties.
WORKING CONDITIONSAll work performed in an office environment with exposure to communicable diseases of patients.
