Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring MD or compact RN licensure and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

Emergency Department setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
Approximately 150 visits per day with a 1:4 patient ratio
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
On-call required every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary
Clinicians will be trained on the unit before being expected to work charge

Requirements

Active MD or compact RN license required
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
CPI, MAB, and TNCC certifications preferred
Minimum 2 years of ED experience within the last 7 years required
Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
Must have worked within the past 8 months in an ED setting with at least 125 visits/day
Experience in charge and triage roles required
Skilled in IV starts and phlebotomy required
Cerner charting experience preferred
Previous charge and preceptor experience preferred

Additional Information

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency medication administration
May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
Scrubs not provided; navy blue scrub color required
Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
Former Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract and not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
