Part-Time Nurse Care Manager; Clinical Research Nurse

The Rebuild, Overcome, and Rise (ROAR) Center at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, has an opportunity for a Nurse Care Manager (Clinical Research Nurse). ROAR is a “one-stop-shop” in Baltimore City where victims of crime can access wraparound legal, case management, nurse care management, and therapy services all in one place. All the staff works collaboratively to provide support and advocacy to survivors of crime in Baltimore City, and to conduct outreach to, and establish strong working relationships with, organizations with which we partner, especially those working with people who are at higher-risk of victimization.

• Manage operations of the nurse care management program at ROAR to assist patients in accessing and fully utilizing medical care for acute medical needs following a violent victimization and/or chronic health needs often exacerbated by victimization.
• Work in collaboration with ROAR’s legal, case management, and therapy staff and partner organizations throughout Baltimore City to provide wrap‑around care.
• Provide assessment of medical and psychosocial needs when required, and coordinate management of patients’ care with primary care physicians and specialists as needed by the patient.
• Act as liaison with other medical and social service providers in Baltimore City on behalf of patient as permissible by patient.
• Ensure all procedures and policies are compliant with HIPAA and other relevant laws regarding privacy of medical information.
• Create and facilitate health‑related psycho educational groups for our clients/patients.
• Seek IRB‑approval, if necessary, for any outcomes studies and published research ROAR may undertake.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years experience nursing, clinical, or in a relevant research specialization related to the position.
Preferred Experience: Experience in a federally qualified health center (FQHC) working with vulnerable patients with complex health and other needs. Experience working with confidential and sensitive information, providing health‑related intervention, and conducting health‑related psychoeducation.

Experience with , or knowledge of, trauma informed care models of care. Experience working with crime victims or other marginalized and underserved populations who often have complex medical and other needs.
