Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring 2 years of NICU experience, prior travel assignment experience, and NRP/STABLE certifications.

• Active RN license (MD state license or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE (STABLE in hand preferred at time of consideration; if not in hand, must schedule class after signing)
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Charge and preceptor experience preferred, but not required
• Skills required include neonatal dosage calculations, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, IV therapy, UVC management, and ventilator management
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

• Work in the Special Care Nursery/NICU II unit
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 18:50-07:20
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Attends high-risk deliveries
• Cares for neonates with conditions including opioid withdrawal, hyperbilirubinemia, tachypnea of the newborn, sepsis, and feeder/grower infants
• Performs CPAP management, short-term ventilator support, umbilical vein catheter setup, and gavage feeding
• Float required to Mother/Baby unit for newborn assignments only
• Every other weekend coverage required, with varying weekend schedules
• Provides direct neonatal care including phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and isolation precautions
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Scrubs provided
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 60 miles
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local and must provide a driver's license matching their address at time of consideration
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
  
  Previous facility employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
