Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
What You Will Do
We are searching for a Laboratory Technician to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute on Aging. This is a full‑time, on‑site opportunity in Baltimore, MD.
- Receive and log samples.
- Maintain specimen integrity and verify accuracy of all information.
- Familiarity in working with proteins.
- Assign a unique lab sequence number to each specimen according to protocols; assess each specimen for condition (liquid or frozen), quantity adequate or not, and appearance (normal, hemolyzed, icteric, lipemic).
- Comply with laboratory SOPs, regulatory and safety guidelines and environmental policies and procedures; adhere to SOP and CAP regulations for data input in laboratory information systems, storage and retrieval for information.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of ONE (1) year of experience in a research or laboratory setting.
- Experience working in a Biorepository and familiar with biorepository practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "public trust"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their public trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.
- Previous experience with NIH preferred.
The annual salary range for this position is $49,000.00-$81,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
