Overview
Quality Systems and Regulatory Specialist job in Maryland (Baltimore). Responsibilities- Quality Systems and Regulatory Specialist
Job Responsibilities: - Label Review & Compliance
- Review labels for compliance (FDA, Organic, Kosher, international as applicable)
- Verify ingredient statements, nutrition facts, claims, and formatting
- Support regulatory interpretation, artwork updates, and risk escalation
- Customer & Compliance Support
- Respond to customer quality and compliance inquiries
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather technical information
- Maintain clear, traceable communication records
- Supplier & Documentation Management
- Maintain supplier documentation (specs, certifications, audits)
- Support supplier onboarding and approval
- Track document validity and manage renewals
- Quality Systems Support
- Maintain documentation aligned with BRC, ISO, and internal standards
- Support internal audits and compliance checks
- Ensure adherence to company quality and regulatory requirements
- Certifications & Audit Readiness
- Support certification programs (BRC, ISO, Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher)
- Assist with audit preparation and documentation
- Track and help close audit findings
- Continuous Improvement & Operations
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and gaps
- Support CAPA and process improvements
- Provide visibility on packaging risks and production gaps
- General
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements
- Align with company mission, goals, and values
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, business or related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience required
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or high-volume production environments preferred
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Import, Sales, etc.)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills
- Starting range is 60-70K with opportunities for advancement
