Schedule: 2nd shift. 2pm - 10 pm.
Job OverviewThe Blending Technician Lead is responsible for serving as a Subject Matter Expert in the blending, testing, and sanitation of syrup, beverages and water treatment. The Blending Technician Lead assures in-process syrup and beverages are in accordance with Company specifications and regulatory requirements. The Blending Technician Lead is proficient in Inventory, Ordering, Testing, Blending, and Integrated Management System policies. The Blending Technician Lead supports all QA teammates from raw material receipt through sanitization of equipment, pipes, and tanks to prevent microbiological contamination.
The Blending Technician Lead upholds company standards and provides departmental leadership and development. This includes active participation in CMS routines and plant-wide improvement teams. The Blending Technician Lead interacts professionally with external plant stakeholders and communicates timely and clearly.
- Leads the blending requirements to ensure attainment of production schedule
- Provides hands‑on knowledge transfer to less experienced QA teammates in proper syrup, blending, and sanitization practices
- Maintains the inventory management system for raw materials and informs Management of any close dated material
- Demonstrates strong problem‑solving ability
- Verifies sanitation activities in conformance with CMS matrix
- Supports team development and manages time independently
- Trains and engages with teammates on the Manufacturing floor and QA department to assist with development
- Participates in continuous improvement projects
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Working knowledge of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) technology
- Working knowledge of Sensory program and requisites
- Familiarity with process control (cpk, cpk) to minimize data variation around the mean
- Computer skills to include competency in Excel, Outlook, Word
- Effective communication skills
- Support the Consolidated Management System (CMS)
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Microbial knowledge and aseptic techniques
- Ability to comprehend complex processing equipment including sanitation circuits
- Associate's degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
- Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years work experience
- Technical degree or experience
