Senior Production Support Technician – Planta Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
Purpose:
Independently, or under limited or null supervision, works on complex assignments that require considerable criteria, judgment, and initiative to solve problems and issue recommendations. The operations technician is responsible for maintaining, completing setups, and repairing the equipment on the production lines.
The technician ensures that all non‑planned maintenance work assigned is performed, keeping the department at the expected levels of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Compliance with GMP involves making observations and communicating them to the supervisor for correction.
Responsibilities- Provides solutions to problems in manufacturing of current and new models.
- Performs basic operational diagnostics tests.
- Solves problems and disconnects components, subassemblies, and manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment to isolate failures, determine solutions, and perform the necessary training.
- Analyzes the non‑conform ant product on the production line; determines root causes and proposes corrective actions in collaboration with the manufacturing supervisor, engineering, and quality departments.
- Starts, adjusts, and operates basic laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Performs simple tests on processes/products and conducts audits in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts tests, basic evaluations, experimental tests, and design proposal research under operational conditions.
- Records procedures and results of tests, including numeric and graphical data for revision by Operations.
- Provides recommendations and technical support for new projects, process improvements, and quality investigations.
- Supports diagnostics and analysis for product customer complaints; leads awareness sessions for operators, determines root causes, and proposes corrective actions with the manufacturing supervisor and engineering, quality, and failure analysis laboratory departments.
- Assesses solutions to problems related to the product, evaluating systems, components, electrical or testing equipment.
- Provides support to operators, group leaders, and trainers in areas related to the discipline.
- Performs inspections of own work.
- Follows standardized procedures while performing tasks, when applicable.
- Follows the Convenient Information Retention Administration Policies of J&J and campus retention programs, including training, education, document notices, record cleanup, inactive records, and vital records when applicable.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned; not all listed responsibilities are required.
- Has completed environmental and safety training appropriate for the discipline.
- Communicates business‑related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
- Follows company guidelines on health, safety, and environmental practices.
- For supervisors: ensures subordinates follow company guidelines on health, safety, and environmental practices and that necessary resources are available and in good condition.
- Ensures personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
- Technical career studies or equivalent high‑school or truncated career.
- Leadership.
- Ability to resolve failures in manufacturing aspects or areas.
- Ability to integrate into work groups.
- Knowledge of the product manufactured by the company.
- Ability to use measuring and testing equipment associated with the discipline.
- Basic ability to read and understand technical documentation for the discipline.
- Capacity to complete departmental/corporate manufacturing training courses.
- Ability to learn about regulatory requirements (GMP and GDP).
- Ability to use computers and related software.
