Job Title

Quality Control Specialist II – CMM Operator

Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, performs visual and measurement inspection tests, including calculating distances, angles, radius tapers, thread and gear data using complex measuring equipment such as Zeiss or Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines, Smartscope or RAM.
  • Operates CMM machines (Zeiss, Brown and Sharp brands) and checks parts according to specifications.
  • Utilizes precision measuring equipment—micrometers, calipers, comparators, master gauge blocks, indicators, surface gauges, surface plates, sine bars—to accept or reject parts, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re‑work, confirming re‑work, and communicating required adjustments to personnel.
  • Opens and interprets complex technical drawings, applying tight tolerances during inspection.
  • Inputs and analyzes statistical data using Infinity or other SPC software, documents data, and evaluates statistical data to maintain quality and product reliability.
  • If applicable, operates inspection equipment, troubleshoots issues that affect product quality, and reports findings to leadership.
  • Acts as a “go‑to” person for quality control inspection procedures, accepts responsibility for training other employees, and ensures inspection methods remain consistent with standards.
  • Conducts training classes related to inspection tools/equipment, processes, GD&T and technical drawings.
  • Performs analytical tests using instrumentation/equipment and performs measurement calculations as needed.
  • Directs other department inspectors when requested by a lead or in a supervisor’s absence.
  • Performs internal audits in accordance with company and customer quality control standards.
  • Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned.
  • Works any required shift or day.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2–4 years of applicable product inspection experience.
  • Experience operating Zeiss, Brown, and Sharp CMM machines and GD&T and measurement tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and intermediate math skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving, judgment, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team across cultures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Qualified status on multiple precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, microscope, federal gauge, Stilson, Talyrond 73, FPI, video scopes, lighting equipment).
Working Hours and Compensation

Shift: Swing Shift – Monday to Friday, 2:00PM – 10:30PM

Training Requirement:
Attend one week of orientation on the day shift, then receive training on Monday‑Friday swing shift after the first week.

Target hiring range: USD 0.00 – USD 0.00 (actual compensation commensurate with experience, skills, and education).
